Art organization connects women creatives via International Women's Day countdown

Groups around the world are getting very creative via their International Women's Day campaigns.

In Dubai, an art organization ran an exciting countdown on social media to support the #EachForEqual theme.

The company ZeeArts selected 100 members from its global community to strike the #EachforEqual pose in lead up to International Women's Day on March 8th.

In a bid to better society, the group strongly advocates for gender parity in the art community as part of its mission to connect creatives with one another on an international level via various art initiatives and projects.

"Contributions by women artists which are often overlooked need to be recognized as indispensable factors to the progression of the creative sector," says the company. "With our core values of respect and integrity in check, we commit ourselves to supporting the community through advocacy and artist-empowerment programmes."

Participants of all genders, mainly from art disciplines, all struck the iconic #EachforEqual pose to show their solidarity in helping to forge women's equality.

The group reinforced their commitment to actively choosing to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, improve conditions and celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women worldwide.

Featured profiles include a wide range of partcipants including the Director of Alliance Française Dubai; a Syrian artist; a yoga instructor in Wales; a UAE fashion designer; a Tunisian teacher; and an art therapist in New Zealand.

Using are to drive gender balance and women's empowerment

The countdown formed part of the company's annual International Women's Day campaign called Art Connects Women.

Launched in 2017, the Art Connects Women exhibition showcases an extensive international line-up of women artists and their creations, led by artist-activist and founder of ZeeArts, Zaahirah Muthy.

The exhibition challenges the ensemble of women artists to produce art that addresses the call-to-action to drive gender balance and women's empowerment, and to realign skewed perspectives of gendered narrations in the art world.

"Our commemorative pursuits alongside International Women’s Day seek to empower and provide opportunities for female artists to reflect upon the entrepreneurial adversities they face while revising their strategies throughout the promotion of gender parity," states the company. "It is the privilege of ZeeArts to shine the limelight on the talents of these exceptional individuals who have their courage, creativity, and determination embodied within their artworks to be laid bare as inspirations for a more inclusive future."
